September 2nd: ACTS' partner for the IWALK, Image Church, will be sponsoring "Movie Under the Stars," which will feature the film Babe. During this FREE event, Image Church will be giving out water and popcorn, as well as IWALK promo materials. This is a great way to learn more about Image Church, the IWALK, and to enjoy a great film with your family.

September 8th: Come join ACTS' Director of Suicide/Helpline Will Harms as he and representatives from Prince William County hold a panel discussion on suicide awareness and prevention.

September 9th: Image Church will have an IWALK booth at the Stonebridge Chili Cook Off and Fall Festival. They are the official water sponsor for the event, and we hope everyone will stop by their booth. The event will be promoted, and visitors will have the chance to register for the IWALK event.

September 19th: Lutheran Church of the Covenant (LCOC) and Thrivent Financial will present The BULL RUN TROUBADOURS in concert  to support our food pantry. The admission fee will be non-perishable goods for our pantry, or a free-will offering for ACTS.

September 28th: Workshop for community professionals working with older adults co-sponsored by (Action in Community Through Service) ACTS and Prince William Community Services. 

The presenter is Steve Liga, CEO of ACTS. Prior to coming to ACTS Mr. Liga served as the CEO of the Middlesex County, New Jersey chapter of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence for 17 years. His advocacy work has led him to testify before legislative and regulatory committees on both the state and federal level.

As adjunct faculty at Rutgers University, Mr. Liga has created and teaches three upper level courses for an Addiction Prevention Certificate Program at the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. He has also presented at the annual conferences of numerous national and state organizations.

*The workshop will be limited to 30 Participants.
