For utility assistance, you may make an appointment once during June 1st-September 30th and once during October 1st-May 31st each year, and one emergency appointment at any time of the year. Other than assistance with utilities, ACTS does not offer rental, mortgage, or any other type of financial assistance for material goods, including loans. Please see our Housing Programs for further information.

Utility Bills

If you live in eastern Prince William County (zip codes 22191, 22192, 22193, 22025, 22026, 22172, 22134 or you have City of Manassas Utility or City of Manassas Park Utility), we may be able to help you avoid having your utilities cut off.  Depending upon available funding, ACTS can often help if you have received a disconnect notice for your electric, gas, oil, propane, water or sewer services. Since this is truly emergency assistance, we can only assist if you are currently in disconnect status, and we do not provide assistance for phone bills or gasoline vouchers.

Propane Assistance

Propane Assistance is for our unsheltered (homeless) clients who use propane to cook. We work with Quickie's Tire and Gas located in the Triangle to fill 10 pound, grill-size tanks. If you are aware of someone who needs this type of assistance, please direct them to us.

Thrift Store Vouchers

If you are experiencing loss of home due to fire, flood, or other natural disaster, our Case Managers are available to meet with you and provide vouchers for those who qualify. Emergency vouchers are given for clothing, kitchen items, linens, and beds (when available) through our Thrift Store.
