Volunteers
If you would like to volunteer with the Food Pantry please fill out a volunteer application. Be sure to specify that you are interested in working in the Food Pantry. Please keep in mind the food pantry requires some heavy lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time. While there are some activities that are low impact, the majority of the work is physical. The food pantry has three types of volunteers; those who stock/replenish, pick-up drivers, and volunteers who work the floor and give out groceries. If you are interested in learning one or all three of these positions, please let us know.

Food Drives
ACTS Food Pantry hosts four major food drives throughout the year. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to host their own drives as well. To learn more about hosting your own food drive, please go to our virtual food drive packet (Link to Food Drive Packet).

Food Pantry Special Events:
March-April Feinstein Challenge- Alan Shawn Feinstein will divide $1 million among hunger fighting agencies nationwide using it to help them raise funds. The larger donation you make to ACTS from March 1 to April 30th the more of the Feinstein money will be added to your donation. These donations can include cash, checks and food items. The million dollars will then be divided proportionately among agencies.

April Prince William County School Food Drive- Schools on the Eastern side of Prince William make donations throughout the month of April.

May Mail Carriers Food Drive- Stamp out Hunger with this annual drive hosted by the Mail Carriers, always on the second Saturday in May.

October and November Operation Turkey- ACTS largest food drive, hosted specifically for providing the items necessary to prepare a Thanksgiving meal.

For information about participating in any of the above food drives please contact Taylor Lenz at Tlenz@actspwc.org or (703)221-3186 x240.
